Learning at Sea and by Rail Text Size A A A
For those who want to learn in style, Academic Arrangements Abroad, an outfitter that crafts high-end educational journeys around the world, still has availability for a few of its remaining 2008 trips. These include: Italian Masterpieces: Rome to Naples Aboard the Sea Cloud II ; The Baltic’s Amber Coast: St. Petersburg to Copenhagen Aboard the Sea Cloud II; Mayan Kings & Great Pyramids: A Yucatan Voyage Aboard Le Levant and A Privileged Journey to the Highlands: Edinburgh & the Royal Scotsman. Academic Arrangements is well-known for securing fabulous conveyances as well as big-name academics and the first three trips will be cruises—the Sea Cloud II is the sister ship of Marjorie Merriwether Post’s former sailing yacht, the Sea Cloud (read a member’s rave) and the Le Levant is an elegant French vessel—while the third is a train journey aboard the Royal Scotsman, which won the U.K.’s prestigious Queen’s Award for Export. The latter is specifically sponsored by Harvard University, though all three feature on-board lectures and stops at prominent cultural, historical and archeological sites.
