Trip to Italy Text Size A A A

When my boyfriend and I decided to take our summer trip to Italy, we were overwhelmed by the number of possible destinations, from Lake Como to Tuscan wine-country to the Amalfi coast. Given our restless traveling nature, we knew we wanted to see multiple sights, stay in a number of fabulous hotels and have a balanced mix of culture and relaxation, but we had to work with a limited amount of time (ten days) and somewhat restricted budget. After much research and consideration we finally decided on Tuscany, a region of Italy that offers a range of spectacular landscapes, luxurious accommodations and diverse cultural activities all within a short driving distance of one another. We began our trip in Florence, then continued on to Siena and the Tuscan countryside, including Montalcino. Each hotel we stayed at had a distinct sense of style and place—and each offered a different vantage point from which to experience Tuscany.
