St. Barth's Best New Villas Text Size A A A
Every year the fabulous quotient is raised on this island in the French West Indies. Three of the most amazing villas added to rental company Sibarth’s portfolio for this season:
SIB JAY, Mont Jean This three-bedroom Mediterranean-style house commands some of the most extraordinary views on the island. The American owner and her late husband bought the property from Edmond Rothschild, who had donated much of the land he acquired on the island to the government for preservation. He had chosen this spot for his house but never built on it. The François Pecard-designed villa, which was just finished this summer, has a soaring Provençal-style living room, state-of-the-art kitchen and great outdoor dining area, in addition to a master bedroom and two large guest rooms. The interior and the grounds, including a pool on top of a promontory facing Anse de Marigot, are worthy of a design magazine. Rates from $14,000 to $28,000 a week, depending on the season and the number of bedrooms used.
SIB BOW, Caramouche Long considered one of the most spectacular modern houses on the island, Hill House is available for rent this year for the first time. Its art-collector owner has both an incredible eye and a passion for entertaining, so the public areas are striking and ideal for large gatherings. There’s an enormous master bedroom suite and living area off the main living area and a path through an exquisite tropical garden leading to three smaller guest cottages. The infinity-edged pool has magnificent views of St. Jean and St. Martin. Rates from $25,000 to $40,000 a week, depending on the season.
SIB KAY, Anse des Cayes A gorgeous new contemporary five-bedroom house with seductive indoor and outdoor spaces, Villa Kay looks like the setting for a Calvin Klein photo shoot. Located on the Anse des Cayes, the villa has a remarkably private, oasis-like feeling but is just a short drive to Gustavia and St. Jean. Rates from $21,000 to $50,000 a week, depending on the season.
