Passion Points: Spa/Wellness

In:spa in Marrakech Text Size A A A
In:spa is the Jimmy Choo of detox retreats. Going strong for four years this wonderful company runs week-long luxury health retreats in gorgeous hotels in Marrakech, the Moroccan coast, Ibiza and Seville, as well as long-weekend retreats in the U.K. I tried a week in Marrakech and, as someone not naturally drawn to dieting and sport, I was amazed by how much I loved it. We ate delicious home-grown organic food cooked by Madonna’s macrobiotic chef; we enjoyed daily hikes in the splendor of the Atlas mountains; we laughed our way through group exercise sessions and ended the day with blissful yoga on the roof terrace as the sun set. Pummeling massages left me near comatose and a one-on-one consultation with a nutritionist revealed the previously unappreciated joys of beetroot juice and quinoa.
In Marrakech, In:spa is based at Jnane Tamsna, a retreat made up of three boho-cool villas in the countryside that is surrounded by gardens brimming with oleander and lavender. Luckily, considering this setting, there was plenty of time for reading and contemplation by either of their two pools. People talk about life changing holidays. In:spa truly is one, both on a physical and mental level. I left feeling at peace with myself, lighter and tighter—and so energized I could have run back to London. Seven-day retreats from $3,670, including accommodation, some transfers, meals, beverages and activities like one-on-one sessions with a trainer, consultation with a nutritionist, yoga classes and thee massages.
