France: Paris: Introduction: Just Back From: 2012 Update
2012 Update
On my way back from Russia, I made a quick stop in Paris and was able to make new special discoveries and check in on old favorites. It was the first gorgeous spring day so the garden at the Bristol was open for breakfast and nightfall saw the banks of the Seine abuzz with revelers of all ages. (Yes bikers and bassists were out playing at midnight midweek.) Despite the fact that many Parisians are mourning recent election results, the city always feels renewed in Spring, and Summer hums with people basking in the joy of being outdoors. On this season’s must list: monumental exhibits and tiny shops, a new bistro from a star chef, special Seine cruises, and for families: go-to restaurants and screenings in the city’s most stylish Philippe Starck-designed cinema.
