The most authentic whirling-dervish performance in the city takes place every second and last Friday of the month, from April to September, at the Galata Mevlevihanesi, a former Sufi lodge that is now a museum. There is also a 7:30 p.m. performance every Monday and Thursday at the Sirkeci Gar train station. (Make sure to arrive thirty minutes early for front-row seats.)
