Nantucket: Introduction: Why Go Now
The island, thirty miles off Cape Cod and always a touch sleeker and chicer than neighboring Martha’s Vineyard, is home to some of New England’s most iconic properties (think White Elephant) and beloved summer rituals (think ice cream at the Juice Bar) but there’s also buzz over novel hot spots (LoLa 41°) and new developments, like Harborview Place, a high-end fractional ownership real estate project currently underway on the waterfront in town. Two of Nantucket’s top hotels, the Wauwinet and the White Elephant, recently added much-anticipated spas. And now that JetBlue offers daily flights from New York during the late spring and summer, the so-called Grey Lady is easier than ever to reach.
