Aspen: Strategies: When to Go: High Season: Winter

High Season: Winter

The Aspen ski season typically runs from Thanksgiving through Easter, though that can vary slightly according to the amount of snowfall received. With today’s high-tech snowmaking capabilities, you’re practically assured there will be snow if you come before Christmas. If you want that Champagne powder ski aficionados crave, however, you’ll more likely find it in January and February. Spring skiing in March is a blast, and those who visit then go home with George Hamilton tans. Expect winter temperatures to run between 20 and 40 degrees on average, though paired as they are with low humidity, those numbers can feel much warmer than they sound.
