Bahia: Where to Stay: Overview
Many of the area’s nicest hotels, such as Estrela d’Agua and Fazenda da Lagoa, do not accept young children. Even the ones that do, like Txai and Villas de Trancoso, are not set up with kids’ clubs and children’s menus as many beach resorts in the U.S. and Europe are. Brazilians tend to divide their holidays into those that focus on family and those that are geared to grown-up time; they seem not to have the hang-up of so many American parents who feel guilty unless they bring their children everywhere. For those who want a resort geared to family time, the best bet is the Club Med Trancoso.
