Tokyo: What to See & Do: Spas: Peninsula Spa by ESPA
Peninsula Spa by ESPA
The British company ESPA runs this spa, incorporating the best of the West and traditional Japan. The signature treatment, the Keihatsu Enlightenment Massage, lasts just short of two hours and uses techniques said to have originated 3,000 years ago. It kicks off with a foot buffing and follows that with rolling, stretching and oiling. Kneading and pinpoint pressure help remove the aches and pains of lifeānot to mention the all-around exhaustion produced by a day of serious sightseeing, shopping or business. The spa is done in warm, earthy tones of gold and brown, beige marble and dark wood.
