Auckland: Introduction: Overview

Over the past ten years, Auckland has quietly transformed from a far-off backwater to a modern hub for tourism and international business. While not the capital of New Zealand, Auckland is the largest and most-visited city in the country. And it’s a town that’s easy to get wrong if you don’t get a cheat sheet from an insider. Although I’ve moved away from my native city, I visit every year and still feel entitled to claim local status; here’s my advice on how to get the most from a visit to this Kiwi metropolis.
