Corsica: Where to Eat: Setting: Domaine de l’Ostriconi
Domaine de l’Ostriconi
Located on the edge of the Désert des Agriates, l’Ostriconi is a “last stop” roadside table d’hôte combined with a farmstand where you can scoop up a jar of superb jam made with peaches or tangerines from the garden. The restaurant prepares delicious, simple family-style Corsican dishes: fish soup, eggplant stuffed with brocciu, veal chops, lamb grilled with honey and home-baked fruit tarts, all made using produce from its organic farm. You dine in the garden surrounded by a poppy field strung with lanterns and, beyond, the starlit desert. Arrive early for a dip at the wild sandy cove of Plage de l’Ostriconi and a twenty-five-minute hike along a shaded river.
