Barbados: Where to Stay: Overview

Most of Barbados’s tonier properties are situated along the west or platinum, coast, on the Caribbean. The Crane resort is the sole luxury hotel on the east, or Atlantic, side (as well as one of the only hotels on that side). Hands down, Sandy Lane, which attracts numerous boldfaced celebrities every year, is the island’s most hyped-up and most luxurious place to stay. It’s also Barbados’s and the Caribbean’s most expensive address. For those who don’t need all that glitz and glamour, there are a few other—often very posh and very British—options. But if you are seeking a similar level of extravagance, renting a villa is your best bet.
