Barcelona: What to See & Do: Overview

A stroll along Barcelona’s charming waterfront and wooden walkway is both a great way to start your sightseeing and an example of successful urban planning. With the continued development of the Old Port area, the city has been shifting back toward the sea. There are plenty of vibrant restaurants and bars here, in addition to a vast shopping mall and a wonderful aquarium. Barceloneta, the old fishermen’s quarter that dates from the late 18th century, has Barcelona’s newly cleaned-up beaches within its environs as well as some of the city’s best fish restaurants.
