Marrakech: Where to Eat: Big Night Out: Le Tobsil

Le Tobsil

This and Dar Yacout are the two most famous restaurants in town. They’ve been attracting throngs of fans every night for years, and are still going strong. First-time visitors should definitely go, for a thoroughly Moroccan experience. Each is set in a beautiful old riad, with ornate tiled floors, flickering candles, rose petals in abundance and wild Moroccan bands. Tobsil is intimate. Go hungry, as meals are a marathon of endless courses, including meze, tagines, salads, pigeon pastilla and other sweet treats. Unfortunately, both restaurants can be full of tourists—they’ve been mentioned in dozens of magazines and guidebooks—so booking ahead is essential.
