Born in Quito, Ecuador, Nico spent his holidays exploring the dense forests of the Amazon, the towering peaks of the Andes mountains and the magic of the Galapagos Islands. His dad, who left Portland, Maine in his early twenties to travel the world, sparked his curiosity to seek meaningful experiences through travel.
At age ten, his family moved to the British Virgin Islands, where he spent four years deepening his connection to nature before moving back to his home country. Committed to seeing more of the world, he joined THINK Global School, the world’s first traveling boarding school. Two years and twelve countries later, Nico found himself boarding a plane to Portland, Maine to begin his studies at Bowdoin College. After one too many cold New England winters, his love for walkable cities led him to live in Madrid for a year—a city that keeps him coming back every few months. His adventures around the world have allowed him to experience the Northern Lights in the Arctic Circle, thin air at the summit of Cotopaxi (19,357 feet), first-hand accounts of the genocide in Bosnia and the scenic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
Inspired by the world’s diversity and having worked on various tourism projects in Ecuador, Nico joined Indagare to share his love for travel and to inspire others to see more of our planet’s beauty. On the weekends you’ll find him climbing mountains, playing squash and watching the F1 Sunday race.
