Back to Global Conversations 2.10: How to Travel Safely Now

Melissa Biggs Bradley sits down with Yale infectious disease specialist Dr. Manisha Juthani, Scott Jordan of Delta Airlines, and Belmond’s Daniel Pasquali to assess the impact of Covid-19 vaccines on travel, what airlines and hotels are doing to make travelers safer, the news on Europe, digital passports, how to choose a destination, when to book flights and more.

Episode Guide

The number one word in travel today is safety. It’s been that way for the past year, and chances are it’s going to stay that way, certainly until the pandemic is over, but probably even after.  Covid has made everyone health and safety-conscious, and to some degree that seems here to stay—and in the end, we think that is a good thing.

And now that the world is opening up again, Indagare is getting flooded with questions: Where can I go that’s open? Where can I go that’s safe to go? How will the hotel experience be different? What are the tests that are involved, and when do I need to take them?

On this episode, Melissa is joined today by three guests who will try and help answer some of these and other questions we are fielding every day here at Indagare. Melissa is joined by: Dr. Manisha Juthani, who is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at the Yale School of Medicine and an Infectious Disease Specialist at Yale Medicine. You’ll also hear from Scott Jordan who’s the Managing Director of Global Sales for Delta Airlines, who we could argue have been leading the way in airline safety throughout the pandemic. And lastly, Melissa’s third guest is Daniel Pasquali, who is the Divisional Director of Leisure Sales for North America for Belmond, one of Indagare’s favorite hotel brands in the world. He dialed in from Anguilla so you’ll hear the rumbling ocean waves in the background!

If you have questions on how to stay healthy while traveling, and what hotels, airlines, and medical professionals are doing and saying right now and considering for the future, this episode is for you.  It’s the latest in our monthly Future of Travel Panel series, talks that allow us to dive into timely travel topics, and look at the current travel landscape with industry experts. And even if you’re not traveling yet—maybe especially if you’re not traveling yet—I think you’ll find it rewarding.
