Itinerary Highlights
Visiting the diverse capital of Antananarivo; viewing lemurs and other wildlife in a private nature reserve; enjoying water sports and relaxing at a beachfront resort.
Days 1-2: Antananarivo
Begin in the heart of Madagascar and its only major city, where Polynesian, African and European influences intermingle. Before flying out to your next destination within the country, you may wish to visit the Queen’s Palace or the Artisan’s Market to see two of Madagascar’s most important exports: handmade textiles and precious stones.
Days 3-5: Anjajavy
Take a chartered flight up to Anjajavy, a private nature reserve on a tropical peninsula. Here, you can view some of Madagascar’s famous lemur species right on the property, or embark on safari-style excursions to see baobab forests, the endangered aye-aye or local communities that still practice the millennia-old customs of their ancestors. Savor the region’s world-class sunsets on the beach at night.
Days 6-9: Nosy Ankao
In the tropical northern islands, the spiny forests and highlands of the south give way to white sands and coral reefs reminiscent of the Seychelles. Enjoy water sports on your own private island, from deep sea fishing to scuba diving through shipwrecks, and see endangered lemurs and other native Malagasy wildlife.
