    5 Days: Essential Arizona

From desert landscapes to breathtaking red rock canyons, an Arizona itinerary is all about the great outdoors with special access. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day 1-2: The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is a quintessential American destination and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You can plan to drive a few hours from your base at a luxury hotel to see the majestic site, or you can hike down into the canyon if you are seeking adventure and can spend the night on the bottom. Either way, visitors will be humbled by the experience of one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world.

    • Day 3-4: Sedona

After hiking and a two-hour drive to Sedona, you may want to enjoy the pool at your hotel or book a series of treatments at the acclaimed Mii amo spa. If you’re up for more hiking, a great trail is Bear Mountain. For sunset, your hotel can pack you a wine and cheese picnic for your walk up to Doe Mountain, a high, flat plateau with exquisite views. You can also enjoy your time in Sedona exploring the busy town center.

    • Day 5: Phoenix

Drive two hours to Phoenix to see Arizona’s capital. Frank Lloyd Wright fans can visit Taliesin West; you can learn more about Native American history at the Heard Museum; or you can tour the wonderful Desert Botanic Garden. Phoenix has a few terrific restaurants, so you can enjoy an early dinner at one of Indagare’s favorites before wrapping up your southwestern road trip and heading home.

“The Arizona Biltmore has three swimming pools in the kids’ area. One of them has a ninety-two-foot water slide that my children were as excited about as they would have been about any ski slope.” Read the postcard.

“Each time I go to Mii amo, I am blown away by what I discover—about the place, the treatments, the people who I go with and, of course, about myself. After all, while this is a spa with incredible massages and facials it is ultimately a retreat that focuses on polishing our insides, not just our outsides.”
