Marrakech has it all: history, romance and an alluring exoticism. In its winding souks and lush gardens, it melds the magical and the mythical: ancient architecture, gorgeous gardens and endless opportunities to savor the distinctive flavors, colors, patterns and treasures to be discovered in the medina. There’s enough history here to keep traditionalists happy, but not so much as to be overwhelming. If you’re looking for an indulgent time in a memorable place, it doesn’t get any better than Marrakech.

Designing Your Journey

Work with Indagare to design the perfect itinerary for an immersive journey. Our travel experts know the destination inside and out, and they can make recommendations based on your travel needs and preferences.

  • 4 Days: Essential Marrakech-LP

    3 Days: Essential Marrakech

Spend three nights in the medina, where days will be spent exploring the labyrinth-like streets of the souk.  Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day 1

Get your bearings. Take a walking tour through the neighborhood surrounding your hotel. At dusk, head toward town and meet your horse and carriage for a ride along the rose red city walls until you arrive at the frenetic Djemaa el Fnaa, the greatest square in all of Africa – and perhaps the world. It was once the ultimate destination for traders from places as diverse as Venice, sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. Enjoy dinner at a classic Moroccan restaurant with live music.

    • Day 2

Meet your guide for your full-day tour of Marrakech, beginning with the 12th-century tiled minaret of the Koutoubia. Next, visit the medieval Medersa ben Youssef (Koranic university) – one of the finest Islamic monuments in North Africa, before exploring the Musée de Marrakech.  After lunch, explore the colorful souks (marketplaces) of Marrakech. You may also arrange for a hands-on shopping and style tour or cooking class.

    • Day 3

Today, head outside of Marrakech to the Desert d’Agafay, for a short camel trek to a private luncheon feast. En route back to town, visit the tropical Majorelle Gardens, lovingly restored under the patronage of the late Yves St. Laurent. Stop for a snack and be sure to browse the wares in the Jardin Marjorelle gift shop and the concept store 33 Rue Majorelle across the street from the entrance.

“The medina itself is a delicious, thrilling madness. The cobras are a fear, the tassel fez hats a joy, the smells are ancient and shifting in their layers and the shops are endless temptations.” Read the Member Postcard

In Marrakech, you can marvel in the chaos and bravado, but also delight in the simplest delicacies–the curve of a handmade slipper, the perfection in a drop of Argan oil, the feeling of bare feet on a smooth terracotta floor.

“In Marrakech, my first night’s meal is usually at La Maison Arabe, but the second night I hit Djemma el Fna for dinner on the square—a bowl of snails with broth or some harira (an herb-laced tomato soup) and then to a stall called Hassan #31 for spicy grilled merguez lamb sausages eaten with disks of bread. I love sitting at the crowded stainless steel counter among the billowing smoke as the action of the square swirls around.”
