Zeitz MOCAA

When Zeitz MOCAA (Museum of Contemporary Art Africa) opened in 2017, it was quickly recognized to be one of Cape Town’s most important cultural institutions. Located on the V&A Waterfront, the museum is part of an exciting urban development involving the restoration of the city’s historic grain silo, which also houses the Silo Hotel. Zeitz MOCAA is the continent’s first museum dedicated exclusively to contemporary art, and features 21^st-century works—by artists from Africa and the African Diaspora—spread throughout more than 100 galleries. There is also an education center (for students and graduates), sculpture garden, bookstore and restaurant; for contemporary art lovers, it should not be missed.
