Located 15 minutes away from Victoria Falls and the town of Victoria, this lodge provides an immersive bush experience. With thatched roofs and an open-air layout, the treehouse-style lodge is decorated with wooden furnishings and local artwork and boasts wraparound terraces that overlook the plains and a large watering hole, which attracts a wealth of wildlife for close-up game viewing. Guests who wish to explore Victoria town can utilize the complimentary shuttle that runs hourly.

The 72 rooms and suites at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge face west, which provides incredible sunset views over the plains. The décor is simple, with an earthy color palette and printed pillows, leather headboards and African artwork. All the accommodations boast private balconies, most of which look out at the waterhole. The best rooms are the six duplex suites, which have beautiful wooden staircases and spacious lounge areas.

There two dining options on property; the signature Makuwa-Kuwa, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the more casual Buffalo Bar. The dining room at Makuwa-Kuwa is open on three sides and looks directly out over the watering hole and bush. The menu offers an eclectic mix of continental and local dishes, including everything from grilled salmon and pesto tagliatelle to flame-grilled warthog with potatoes and crocodile stir-fry.

The lodge has a beautiful pool and deck overlooking the bush, but there is no spa or gym. The property also has a unique animal experience, during which guests camouflage themselves in order to view endangered vultures, elephants and birds up-close. The activities desk at the lodge can arrange a host of activities such as a guided rainforest walks, sunset cruises, helicopter tours, game drives in Zambezi National Park and white-water rafting.

Guests who don’t mind being 15 minutes by car away from Victoria Falls and who want an immersive bush and wildlife experience.
