Ganesh Handicraft Emporium

Though a touristy spot located between Udaipur’s two most important landmarks, Ganesh is quite literally a mall full of Indian wares – everything from textiles to handbags to wood and ivory handicrafts. Leave yourself an hour plus to sort through the merchandise in this three-story house and put your haggling skills to the test.

Om

A school for Indian miniature painting, Om sells artwork and handicrafts. Don’t forget to peek upstairs in the textiles department – their tailors can custom-make tunics in two hours or less.

Rama Art Gallery

Located just outside the front gates of the Udaivilas hotel, this massive emporium includes rooms of local crafts, from a downstairs gallery of enormous garden urns to a back room filled with scarves and shawls and others stacked with textiles and silver. The choice can be overwhelming but for those who like silk or brocade jackets, there is a tailor on site who can custom make you a raw silk coat or blazer overnight.
