Ramen joints flourish in Tokyo, and nearly all are excellent, but Afuri is one of the best and most easily accessible to foreigners, thanks to its English menu and helpful staff. Afuri has a handful of locations throughout the city; the original outpost in Shibuya (and near Harajuku) is the most convenient. The walk-in only restaurant has a tiny bar, where patrons can sample the signature Yuzu Shio Ramen. There are many ramen varieties to try, including a vegan option, as well as delicious side dishes such as rice with braised pork belly and negi onions.
