  • Three Days: Essential Bangkok-LP

    Three Days: Essential Bangkok

Take your time exploring Bangkok, as the city’s sprawl and Thailand’s climate makes rushing around nearly impossible. Tour a few well-chosen temples and palaces, explore the various markets, and allow for some downtown. Return visitors will appreciate straying from the beaten tourist track. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day 1

Led by a city insider, explore the historic center of Bangkok, rich in temples and cultural sites, as well as buzzing markets where delectable local street food can be sampled. Don’t miss a river tour into the smaller canals to get a feel for Bangkok’s inner workings.

    • Day 2

The Grand Palace, with such treasures as the Emerald Buddha, is best toured with a guide who can speak expertly on Thailand’s Buddhist culture and traditions. Other not-to-be-missed sights are Wat Arun and Wat Pho, the latter best seen at twilight. Indagare can recommend restaurants along the river with beautiful dinner views.

      Day 3

Shopping is a major sport and pastime in Bangkok, though the city’s layout does not lend itself to neighborhood window-shopping. Like almost everything else in Bangkok, stores worth visiting are spread out, and a shopping spree requires some foresight and planning. Those eager to visit the massive weekend market should tour with a guide who can plot a route according to your shopping wishes (antiques, art, local treasure etc.)

"How we loved the Tuk tuk parade through Bangkok…what a wonderful surprise! At the Emerald Buddha, the guard let us inside the blocked-off area so we could get a better view of the Buddha. It was fabulous.”

“The contradictions that make up Bangkok extend to the city’s dining offerings, which range from hole-in-the-wall food stalls to white-tablecloth restaurants adorned with Michelin stars. On a recent trip to Bangkok, I savored a taste of the delicious, yet wildly different, culinary treats the city has to offer.”
