Silver Sands Grenada Review

Situated on a strip of Grand Anse Beach, Silversands Grenada is the first property to open in the area in 25 years. The minimalist design is anchored by the striking 100-meter pool that runs from the lobby to the beach. Art and sculptures from the Egyptian owners’ private collection have been placed throughout the property, providing a whimsical touch on strolls through the gardens and communal areas.

The Silversands suites were built to showcase ocean views and all have private terraces, seating areas and luxurious bathrooms with five-and-a-half-foot soaking tubs and waterfall showers. On-property, three- and four-bedroom villas are available for short-term rental or to purchase and can accommodate up to 12 people. The four-bedroom beachfront villas include state-of-the art kitchens, private pools and terraces as well as private gardens off the bedrooms. Three-bedroom hillside villas are currently under construction, so there is the chance of hearing some noise from this activity while on site.

For foodies, Silversands Grenada offers two restaurant options serving locally sourced fare with a view. Asiatique is open daily for dinner, and the menu is inspired by traditional Asian dishes that are infused with spices and ingredients found on the island. Must-try dishes include charcoal vegetable Dim Sum, Bang-Bang shrimp with a three spice chili sauce and vegetable curry featuring bread fruit. For those seeking a more casual dining experience–the beachside Grenadian Grill serves salads, burgers and lobster rolls and signature cocktails. For dinner, the restaurant offers a more upscale experience, with an eclectic menu featuring dishes inspired by the owners’ middle eastern roots. For wine lovers, the carefully curated collection at the Grenadian grill features over 100 varietals from around the world, with a unique focus on rosé.

Getting There

Flights to Grenada are limited, but it is an easy flight from the East Coast on JetBlue, with direct flights from New York. There is only one airport on the island. Guests are greeted at the airport and transported to the hotel by Tesla.

When to Go

High season in Grenada is December through the end of March, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s and a nice breeze coming off the sea. As in many Caribbean destinations, there are sun showers that pass quickly. From April to November, temperatures hold relatively steady, due to the proximity to the equator.
