Four Seasons Nevis Review

With its multiple infinity pools, well-appointed accommodations and myriad activities, including a Robert Trent Jones II–designed golf course and an extensive tennis program, the Four Seasons Nevis offers the type of experience that keeps everyone from toddlers to grandparents entertained and happy. The resort sprawls across hundreds of acres on Nevis’ west coast, spilling down to a four-mile beach. Guests should know that walking from end-to-end can take 15 minutes, and some of the villas are on a hilltop that is a golf cart–ride away from the main facilities. Where you book is key to how you want to spend your days. The resort offers three pools, ten tennis courts and the eighteen-hole golf course, and the volcanic island of Nevis itself is one for active travelers. There are recreational water activities, challenging hiking and beautiful beaches with low surf.

The resort has 196 guest rooms and suites, as well as more than 50 residences, all of which offer an updated take on traditional West Indian interiors and beautiful views. The décor includes comfortable furnishings, spacious bathrooms and all the high-tech amenities a modern traveler expects.

The Four Seasons Nevis is by no means the only resort in this part of the Caribbean that caters to families—it is, however, one of the few that does so and can boast top-notch service. Budding conservationists should visit in July, which is sea turtle nesting season. Guests of the Four Seasons can help patrol the beaches and mark turtle nests during the nighttime vigils, while kids can join a weekly sea turtle camp. An Indagare family traveling with two young children raved: “I just want to say what a fabulous time we had last year at Nevis. It was perfect with the kids.”

Who Should Stay

Four Seasons Resort Nevis is right for devotees who like the company’s aesthetic and are looking for a family-oriented, full-service resort with an impressive kids-club.

From an Indagare member: “The property is incredibly family-friendly and there were kids everywhere (during the winter holidays). The issue with the amount of people is that you are supposed to guarantee pool chairs once you arrive that are yours for your stay, but since we arrived on the later side, there were no chairs left at the pool for our first couple of days. The service was wonderful, but we wouldn’t recommend the babysitting service. Mango was our favorite on-property restaurant, and Neve, the biggest dining venue which was often flooded with people, was our least favorite. That said, Neve did have a big buffet that was a hit with the kids.”

From Indagare member J.D.: “The Four Seasons Nevis was really great! Our villa was absolutely beautiful with an entire set of windows overlooking the pool and ocean. The configuration worked well for our family structure, and it was nice to have an open living room and foyer. The service was great, and everything is kept in impeccable shape. It’s about a 10-minute drive from the main building which we liked for the privacy. The tennis courts were great, and the restaurants were a good mix.”
