The north coast town of Cabarete is world famous for kite-boarding and guests of Playa Grande Beach Club can take a day-trip to the surfers town. Those who would like to kite-surf everyday should consider staying at Casa Colonial, which is closer to Cabarete.

Santo Domingo’s Zona Colonial

The historic district of the capital city of Santo Domingo is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was the home to Christopher Columbus’s son, Diego. The old cobblestoned streets remain and the early-16th-century Catedral Primada de America, the oldest in the Americas.
