Lay of the Land
Nevis, in the West Indies, measures only about thirty-six square miles, with a population of 12,000, so seemingly everyone knows everyone. What Nevis lacks in size, it makes up for in character and charm. For example, the island boasts one of the largest orchid collections in the Caribbean. There are multiple nonstop flights into St. Kitts, Nevis’ sister island. From here, the Four Seasons runs a 40-minute private boat ride directly to the hotel’s dock. There is a small runway on Nevis–not large enough to land a private jet, but served by smaller Caribbean airlines via San Juan.
