Brazil for Design Lovers

The latest in a series of Insider Journeys crafted in collaboration with Design Miami/, this special group trip in April explores the vibrant world of contemporary design and culture in  Brazil—a destination that can otherwise be difficult to access. Our itinerary invites members to experience exclusive tours throughout the cosmopolitan centers of  São Paulo  and  Rio de Janeiro, as well as the cities’ most esteemed galleries and art institutions.

What to Expect

Brazil is a lively country known for its vibrant mix of cultures and fun-loving coastal attitude.

On this journey, we will visit the studios of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo’s most celebrated artists and curators who will lead us on museum and design tours. Along with these behind-the-scenes visits and shopping experiences, members will enjoy expert-guided tours of the city’s most interesting neighborhoods with an emphasis on history and the work of Oscar Niemeyer, Estevão and Paulo Mendes da Rocha.

We also offer members the chance to dine at some of Brazil’s most delicious and innovative restaurants, and we will explore iconic sites like Ipanema Beach, Beco do Batman, Sugar Loaf, the Statue of Christ and the Paraisópolis favela. On this journey, we will be treated to insider perspectives on the future of global design in the context of Brazil’s rich cultural heritage.

Occurring alongside the Art Basel fairs in Miami, USA each December and Basel, Switzerland each June, Design Miami/ has become the premier venue for collecting, exhibiting, discussing and creating collectible design. On this journey, members will meet with renowned artists and gallerists. Along with these behind-the-scenes visits and shopping experiences, members will also enjoy expert-guided tours of the city’s most interesting neighborhoods with an emphasis on cultural history.
