Delfin Amazon Cruises Review

Delfin Amazon Cruises consist of three vessels: Delfin I (four suites, eight guests), Delfin II (14 suites, 28 guests), and Delfin III (22 suites, 44 guests). Each cruise offers either a three or four-night itinerary, designed to showcase the best of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, a vast area of Amazonian jungle known for its biodiversity bordered within the Marañón and Ucayali rivers.

Between sunrise and sunset, each day is “choose your own adventure,” perfect for families or friends with a wide variety of preferences. The friendly, warm crew curates a schedule of skift excursions, jungle treks, piranha fishing, kayaking, a cooking class with Amazonian ingredients, a pisco sour cocktail demonstration, a shamanism lecture, spa treatments and more.

Every skift ride offers new insights into the Amazon rainforest, and guests—a maximum of ten per ride—will be able to see an array of wildlife: sloths, caiman lizards, piranha, barracuda, poison dart frogs, monkeys (including tamarin, saki and squirrel monkeys), both blue-and-yellow as well as scarlet macaws and many more of the region’s 800 bird species. Don’t miss the night safari when the cacophony of frogs and other nocturnal wildlife is hypnotic. Dolphins hiding underwater emerge to the surface, splashing feet away.

A key highlight of Delfin is the contemporary Peruvian Amazon cuisine prepared by Chef Isaac and his team, who are wildly passionate about showcasing local ingredients like macambo, cocona and granadilla. You’ll never go hungry with signature dishes like patarashca—fresh doncella catfish grilled and wrapped in bijao leaf—or go thirsty with camu-camu cocktails and pisco sours flowing.

Another highlight: Delfin Amazon Cruises helps bring sustainable, diverse socioeconomic benefits to the region. Indigenous women create the handicrafts sold on board, and proceeds from the sales fund an annual program that gives school supplies and first-aid kits to local communities. Delfin also hires local guides on a rotating basis and sources its provisions locally.

Who Should Stay

Delfin is perfect for multi-generation families and couples who are looking for laid-back luxury and up for a more relaxed, fun adventure in the Amazon. Guests should be social and prepared for no WiFi services throughout the entire cruise.
