Review

Designed by the renowned Denise Guislain Koechlin (the decorator responsible for several other Inkaterra properties in Peru), this secluded hideaway provides as much reason to hole up fireside as it does to explore the stunning surrounding region. Located in the lush Sacred Valley, the property has lots of local touches (wood beamed ceilings, cowhide carpets and woven wall tapestries in rich hues) and provides guests with an all-around immersive experience. When not lounging in front of the main building’s floor-to-ceiling windows admiring the great Andes, guests can venture out to visit local farming communities, hike the Huasi Challa trail or explore the on-property eco-center.

All 36 rooms and suites come with garden and mountain views, but a particular favorite is the vista from the tower above the entrance, which looks out towards the imposing Urquillos mountain range.  The rooms give the allusion of a private mountainside getaway complete with a plush sitting area and sliding glass doors that lead to wooden deck chairs—the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Andes. Most accommodations come fully prepared with a wood fireplace. Note: the hill-top cottages are a bit of walk to reach, but provide the most privacy.

Who Should Stay

Couples or groups looking for a quiet, well-appointed retreat in the midst of the Sacred Valley. Families may be better suited at a property with more outdoor space and age-appropriate activities for young children.
