A much-loved gallery for modern and contemporary art, the Serpentine showcases a wide variety of special exhibitions including an annual site-specific installation that typically kicks off the spring and summer arts season. The Serpentine North Gallery was designed by the-late Pritzker-prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid, transforming a historic gunpowder storehouse — the 1805 Magazine — in Kensington Gardens into its current incarnation.
