Review

The Bloomsbury Hotel takes its inspiration from The Bloomsbury Set, a group of influential writers and artists (including Virginia Woolf) who congregated in London’s Bloomsbury neighborhood in the early 20th century. Throughout the property, guests will find subtle references to the hotel’s literary theme, such as leather armchairs and wall-to-wall bookshelves. The property has over 100 rooms ranging from standard rooms to suites, all of which are contemporary in style and have elegant Italian marble bathrooms.

The Bloomsbury is home to a number of dining venues. The pièce de résistance is the Coral Room bar. Designed by Martin Brudnizki (of London’s members’ club Annabel’s and New York’s The Beekman Hotel), the space is decidedly bold, with high ceilings, jewel-tone velvet couches, sparkling chandeliers, crackling fireplaces and bright coral walls. With an extensive menu of playful cocktails, it’s the perfect pre-dinner spot for hotel guests and locals alike. Downstairs, the atmospheric Bloomsbury Club is modeled after a speakeasy and offers excellent cocktails. The hotel’s main restaurant is Dalloway Terrace, an outdoor haven for all-day dining that serves classic British cuisine. Guests can enjoy the terrace year-round, as the space is generously heated in the winter.
