Annie Traiteur

Tucked behind Calvi’s beautiful church of Sainte-Marie, this gourmet treasure trove carries Corsican specialties. Best of all, many of the olive oils, tapenades, jams and liqueurs come in small sizes, making this a great spot for stocking up on gifts before you return home. There’s a large counter with fresh-made picnic food, like quiches, roasted vegetables, cheeses and antipasta. Annie also has an extensive selection of wines, especially from the acclaimed, nearby Patrimonio appellation.

Mattei

Corsica’s answer to the southern France’s pastis is Cap Corse, which comes in two varieties (rouge and blanc) and is served with seltzer and a slice of orange or lemon. The producer of this wonderfully aromatic aperitif is Mattei, a family-owned business since 1872. Their flagship store in Bastia is definitely worth a visit if you’re touring this northern city. Besides their own products (in a variety of sizes), the Mattei shop also carries other Corsican specialties and a large variety of wine.
