Courchevel is part of Les Trois Vallées, a network connecting the five villages of Courchevel, plus the nearby resorts of La Tania, Méribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. Together, they form the world’s biggest ski area, with more than 111,000 acres, and because the valleys are at a relatively low altitude—5,500 feet to about 10,000 feet—visitors can ski huge vertical drops without suffering from altitude sickness.
