Just a stone’s throw from the Matisse Chapel, Les Bacchanales was formerly the private home of Michelin-starred chef Christophe Dufau, who revamped this bastide into a stylish bistro and filled it with contemporary art and sculpture. Dufau’s wildly creative cuisine celebrates his passion for vegetables, herbs and flowers, all plucked from the garden. Highlights range from the original parsley pesto and hot bread sticks that appear on the table as soon as you arrive, to milk-fed veal with black olive oil and saffron, and a divine pastry layered with white chocolate, beets and violets. During the summer, there is often live jazz on the terrace. Check the schedule to confirm days and times.
