At a Glance

Like its Parisian sister, this full-service resort offers the best of both worlds: the glitz of St.-Tropez and the serenity of a private château setting. The interiors of the 19 suites, eight rooms and 14 villas are stylish, with floor-toceiling windows to maximize the Mediterranean views and thoughtful accents like Scandinavian-style furniture and handmade jars and tiles by ceramicist Julien Capron. (A redesign by Jacques Garcia is being unveiled in 2023.) The suites and rooms all have their own sun terraces, and many also have private gardens; villas offer full-size heated pools, lawns and, in some cases, their own pool houses. The area’s prime see-and-be-seen spot is La Réserve à la Plage, the resort’s own club on Pampelonne Beach; guests can also go nordic walking or electric mountain biking on the hills in the shade of the umbrella pines and across the vineyards. But the true pleasure is to return to the light-filled property instead of competing with the crowds in town, for a crisp glass of Provençal white and a gorgeous meal at two-Michelin-starred La Voile.

**The Standout:** The impressive spa with 11 treatment rooms, Nescens products, a state-of-the-art fitness center and indoor and outdoor pools **Don’t Miss:** A day at La Réserve à la Plage on Pampelonne Beach

Review

Located a 15-minute drive from the town of Saint-Tropez, La Réserve Ramatuelle strikes just the right balance between the appeals of a boutique hotel and a larger property. With 19 suites and eight rooms, it’s small enough to feel personal, but thanks to amenities such as a full fitness facility, a fantastic spa with specialized Crème de la Mer treatments and an indoor and outdoor pool, it also delivers the experience of a larger property. The rooms at La Réserve Ramatuelle feature a contemporary, Scandinavian-inspired look, decorated in a neutral palette with low platform beds, crisp white linens, hardwood floors and gorgeous sea views through a wall of windows. Spa lovers flock to La Réserve Ramatuelle in search of a boot-camp experience, as the resort offers five-night programs that include daily yoga, intensive hikes, spa treatments, physical assessments by a consulting doctor and healthy spa food.

The Michelin-starred main restaurant on property, La Voile, is not to be missed. La Réserve Ramatuelle also added a stylish new beach club on Pampelonne, La Réserve à la Plage. The Mediterranean menu is light and fresh, the service is excellent, and the vibe is charming and relaxing.

Who Should Stay

Couples and families looking for a relaxing, soulful oasis near St.-Tropez (the villas are especially good for families)
