Review
Built on the site of the 1992 Winter Olympics ski jump, L’Apogée Courchevel, an Oetker Collection property, commands an impressive position in the forests above Courchevel 1850’s highest village, part of the world’s largest interconnected ski area. A private, 130-foot conveyor belt gives guests ski-in, ski-out access to both the region’s greatest concentration of beginner runs and learners’ zones, as well as to some of Europe’s most gorgeous pistes for advanced skiers. Only open during the ski season, L’Apogée has interiors designed by India Mahdavi and Joseph Dirand. Forest green and burgundy textiles, dark woods and jet-black walls act as an intentionally soothing contrast to the snow-bright winter wonderland outside. Bathrooms are a highlight, with Art Deco flair and Fior di Bosco marble. And while the general aesthetic may be grown-up, the hotel is decidedly family-friendly, thanks to connecting rooms and fabulous kids’ club programming on and off the slopes.
