Two Israeli star chefs, Assaf Granit and Uri Navon, have partnered with Experimental Cocktail Club and opened a chic watering hole on the Right Bank called Balagan. The décor is light and airy with stone floors and touches of wood and cerulean blue to evoke the Mediterranean sea. The menu offers Middle Eastern classics such as “Friday night eggplant” and tabbouleh salad to start, but it really takes off with the ones that have been given a modern spin: salmon tataki with cherries; ptitim risotto with broccoli, green beans and spinach; and seabass Persian-style with spinach and tahini beurre blanc.
