Lorenz Bäumer, who launched Chanel’s fine jewelry collection before he was hired by Louis Vuitton to do the same for that brand, is now the only independent jeweler working on the storied Place Vendome. In his jewel box boutique you can discover the sense of whimsy and sophistication that he brings to his creations. As a trained engineer, he loves to incorporate surprising mechanisms and customizations. Imagine a more approachable young JAR and you can understand why he has a cult following from Faubourg St. Honoré to Fifth Avenue. Since summer 2013, he has occupied this gorgeous shop at 19 Place Vendôme, right next to another one of the town’s most exclusive addresses: the Ritz. Prices begin at approximately $5,000.
