The outstanding Musée Yves Saint Laurent, a small but comprehensive museum located in the brand’s historical couture house, presents beautiful displays and Yves’s original studio, complete with sketches and fabric samples. A project of the late Pierre Bergé, a former chief executive of Yves Saint Laurent and onetime partner of the designer, the museum opened in 2017 in conjunction with another of Bergé’s projects, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakesh in Morocco. The Paris institution offers rotating exhibits of couture, with highlights including the 1988 Van Gogh “Sunflowers” jacket and Le Smoking tuxedo.
