Review
The younger, hipper sister property to Konsulat, Canopy Hotel features quintessentially Scandinavian design, with bright and lively common spaces and minimal yet comfortable rooms. Tucked away from the waterfront, but still within walking distance of all major sites, the Canopy Hotel resembles an NYC WeWork, buzzing with cool locals and international guests.
Comprised of six interconnected houses, the hotel offers well-appointed rooms and suites with heated floors and muted colors. The Heritage Room and One-Bedroom Suites are more high-design, with punchy wallpaper and high ceilings.
Dinner is served at the Geiri Smart restaurant, which offers Icelandic fare sourced from local farmers and fishermen that's served in a chic and funky dining room with cozy banquette seating.
Who Should Stay
Younger travelers who want a lively, fun atmosphere with a central location and don't mind minimal amenities.
Good To Know
Guests should be aware that Reykavik has an active nightlife scene, and rooms on the front side of the hotel can be affected by noise.
