Casa di Langa is five-star, contemporary-style resort overlooking the hills of Piedmont.

Casa di Langa was built to disappear into the landscape. In the village of Cerreto Langhe, near the region’s Barolo wineries, it has beautiful views of the surrounding hills, showcasing the vines, hazelnut groves and villages of the Langhe.

Two Milan-based design teams worked on this project: GaS studio on the architecture and Parisotto + Formenton Architetti on the interiors. Casa di Langa’s 39 comfortable rooms (12 of which are suites) showcase a modern and contemporary in design, done in a neutral color palette with Le Labo toiletries and Dyson blow dryers in the bathrooms. Some rooms have terraces with views of the vineyards surrounding the hotel. Around the property’s equally sleek public spaces, you will find a fine art collection highlighting notable Italian and American artists. The entire resort operates sustainably thanks to solar panels, geothermal heating and 100% recycled water for irrigation.

There is one restaurant on-property offering breakfast and lunch. For dinner, it turns into the fine-dining restaurant, Faula, which means “tale” in Piedmontese and pays homage to the Langhe’s tradition of spending quality time together after a hard day of work. The menu is innovative while simultaneously celebrating traditional cuisine, using ingredients from the hotel’s garden. There is also a beautiful hotel bar by reception for aperitivo, a lovely spa and an outdoor swimming pool.

Note: As a new hotel, Casa di Langa still has work to do on improving the general level of service it provides guests.

Couples and families who love clean-cut, contemporary accommodations and a resort-like property in an excellent location for exploring Piedmont. Those looking for a traditional sense of place will prefer one of the region’s more historic hotels.
