Review
The sister property to the nearby First Roma Arte, this sophisticated boutique hotel with 23 suites and rooms is housed in a 19th-century building designed by the architect of the Piazza del Popolo. It offers a prime location near the Spanish Steps and Via del Corso, convenient to historic sites, restaurants and shops. Rooms are contemporary-Italian, but studios and standard rooms are a little on the small side and feel more masculine than the rest of the hotel, with wood panels, contemporary sculptures hanging above the beds and earthier tones throughout. Some rooms also come with sophisticated in-room fitness equipment for those looking to make inroads in the fitness department while traveling. That the lobby is located on the second floor might be a turnoff for those who prefer a traditional hotel entry, but afternoon tea (and breakfast) is served in the bright, sleek restaurant and there is an on-site pastry shop (which inspired the hotel’s name) that may be hard to resist.
Who Should Stay
Those looking for a boutique option with modern design, good value and a great location.
