If sister property Cala di Volpe is for a see-and-be-seen crowd, the equally glamorous Pitrizza, also a part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, is favored by more discreet personalities like Harrison Ford and by romancing couples who prefer peace and quiet. “It’s long been the favorite getaway for those with great taste who are having an affair,” acknowledged one regular. “There is something ironic about the honeymooners dining amidst the lovers.”
The more than fifty-five secluded hillside stone villas—most with their own garden and terrace near the sea— are individually decorated with traditional Sardinian furniture and fabrics in light cream, pink or blue airy interiors brightened by touches of color: yellow ceramic vases, tasteful prints and fresh flowers. Guests lounge on the property’s private beach and dine on the outdoor terrace facing the emerald waters of Liscia di Vacca Bay.
