Sardinia’s hippy or crafts market moves to different towns. It is generally in San Pantaleo on Thursday, Porto Cervo on Friday and Porto Rotondo on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. There are a few local artisans who sell linens and carpets as well as local farmers selling cheese, jams and fruits. However most of the hawkers under the tents sell pareos and kaftans from India that have become ubiquitous in resorts from South America to Australia. The setting in San Pantaleo is charming, though, and worth going for a morning browse and chance to have breakfast in one of the cafés on the church square, while it is filled with tents and shoppers.
