Kazimierz

Kazimierz, 30-001 Kraków, Poland

The most atmospheric neighborhood in Krakow, Kazimierz, the Jewish quarter was peacefully shared between ethnic Poles and Jews until 1941, when Jews were forcibly relocated to the Krakow ghetto. Today, it is one of the most important cultural destinations in Krakow and filled with cool boutiques and cafés (don’t miss lunch at Hamsa). It is also where much of Schindler’s List was filmed (although the movie depicts events in the Jewish Ghetto), and important landmarks from the film can be seen while walking through the neighborhood.
