Warsaw Old Town

Piwna 13, 00-001 Warszawa, Poland

Almost entirely destroyed during World War II, Warsaw’s Old Town was rebuilt in the same style in 1953-55 and has since been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. With beautiful architecture and important landmarks—don’t miss the old and new squares—this area has charming cafés and shops, as well as the rebuilt gothic mansions of Warsaw noblemen. All visitors should make time to explore the Royal Castle, which details centuries of history about Polish Kings and has two paintings by Rembrant: Girl in a Picture Frame and A Scholar at His Writing Table.
