The grande dame department store on Red Square, G.U.M. used to be where people lined up to receive their rations of canned food. Hard to believe today, now that its splendid Belle Epoque glass-covered arcades have been restored and house every luxury label imaginable from Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik to Hermès and Ferragamo. Come not to pick up any Russian souvenirs or bargains but to marvel at the multi-story arcades and the Moscovites on parade.
